The hygroscopic cap swells when it absorbs water and seals the vent, helping prevent leaks if the float valve weeps. The brass body is rated for 150 psi working pressure, 60 psi maximum venting pressure, and 250°F.

Before ordering, confirm you need a 1/2" male NPT connection and a straight body pattern. Install the vent upright at a high point of the system.

Specifications

Brand: Caleffi

Manufacturer Part #: 502243A

Series: VALCAL

Type: Float-Type Automatic Air Vent

Size: 1/2"

Connection: Male NPT

Body Pattern: Straight

Material: Brass

Cap: Hygroscopic safety cap

System Type: Hydronic (water)

Max Working Pressure: 150 psi

Max Venting Pressure: 60 psi

Max Temperature: 250°F

UPC: 8016615083170

Category: Air Vents

Documents

Technical Data Sheet (PDF)

Installation & Operation Manual (PDF)

See also: air vents, all Caleffi products.

https://www.thehousesupplier.com/products/caleffi-502243a-valcal-high-capacity-automatic-air-vent-1-2-npt-male-with-hygroscopic-cap
