It keeps water from a heating or process system from flowing back into the potable water supply.

ASSE 1012 devices are commonly installed on the cold water make-up line to hydronic boilers and other low-hazard equipment connections. Two independent check valves and a vent chamber between them discharge water to atmosphere if backpressure or back-siphonage occurs.

Before ordering, confirm your 1/2" NPT line size and that local code accepts an ASSE 1012 device for the application; high-hazard connections typically require a reduced pressure zone (ASSE 1013) assembly. Allow for drainage from the vent port.

Specifications

Brand: Caleffi

Manufacturer Part #: 573403A

Series: 573

Type: Dual Check Backflow Preventer with Atmospheric Vent

Size: 1/2"

Connection: 1/2" NPT threaded

Max Temperature: 210F

Max Pressure: 175 psi

Material: Brass

Standards: ASSE 1012

UPC: 8016615087604

Category: Backflow Preventers

Documents

Technical Data Sheet (PDF)

Installation & Operation Manual (PDF)

See also: backflow preventers, all Caleffi products.

https://www.thehousesupplier.com/products/caleffi-573403a-573-series-dual-check-backflow-preventer-with-atmospheric-vent-1-2-npt-asse-1012
