Shower arms and flanges in lengths from 6" through 20", straight, S-shaped and ceiling-mount, in chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze and polished nickel.
The arm sets the showerhead's height and how far it reaches into the enclosure, and it is the cheapest way to fix a head that sits too low or sprays the wall. A standard arm is around 6"; longer arms and S-shaped arms move the head outward and upward without touching the plumbing in the wall.
A rain head has to come from the ceiling or from a long right-angle arm, because it sprays straight down — mounted on a standard arm it soaks the wall instead of the user.
The thread is 1/2" NPT and effectively universal, so an arm from one brand fits another brand's head. Finish is the real matching problem: manufacturer chrome varies subtly, and Grohe Chrome and a generic polished chrome will not read as identical side by side.
