Shower bases (pans) and wall kits from E.L. Mustee, Florestone and Maax. Footprints run 32 x 32, 34 x 34, 36 x 36, 42 x 42, 34 x 48, 32 x 48, 30 x 60, 32 x 60, 34 x 60, 36 x 60 and 42 x 60.
Single threshold or barrier-free is the accessibility decision. A single-threshold base has a raised curb to hold water in. A barrier-free base (Mustee DURABASE 360L and 360R) has no curb, so a wheelchair or a shower chair rolls in — but it has to be recessed into the floor framing, which is a different rough-in.
Drain position is molded in: center, left or right. It has to match the existing waste line.
Wall kits are sold separately from the base. The DURAWALL five-piece panels cover a standard alcove in plain or tile pattern, and go over studs or existing walls.
Florestone Saflor bases have a textured slip-resistant floor, which is what commercial and multifamily specs usually call for.
