PEX Tools

PEX tools for every connection standard we sell fittings for: cold expansion, crimp, cinch clamp and press. Stocked from Milwaukee, Viega, MR PEX SYSTEMS and PexGun.

Which tool do I need? The tool follows the fitting, not the other way around. An expansion tool makes the F1960 joint and only works on PEX-a. A crimp tool sets a copper ring on F1807, a cinch tool sets a stainless ear clamp on F2159, and a press tool sets a PureFlow press fitting. None of them are interchangeable. The PEX fitting compatibility chart lays out which tool goes with which system.

The battery expansion tools are what the trade calls a PEX gun — the Milwaukee M12 and M18 ProPEX® platforms. Those and their expander heads are on the PEX expansion tools page, sized 3/8" through 2".

Frequently asked questions

Does a PEX expansion tool work on PEX-B?

No. Expansion fittings (ASTM F1960, such as ProPEX) are made for PEX-a tubing. PEX-B is joined with crimp, cinch or press fittings and the matching tool.

Milwaukee M12 or M18 PEX expander?

M12 expanders cover 3/8" to 1" tubing in a smaller, lighter tool. M18 expanders also handle larger tubing on some kits, so check the expander heads included and the sizes you install most.

Do I need different heads or jaws for each tubing size?

Yes. Expansion tools use a head for each tubing size, and crimp and press tools use a jaw for each size. Order heads or jaws for every size you plan to install.
