F1960 cold expansion fittings for PEX-A. The tubing and its ring are stretched with an expander tool, the fitting is inserted, and the tubing's shape memory shrinks it back down onto the barb. No crimp ring to check with a gauge and no insert restricting the bore.
The method works only with PEX-A. PEX-B and PEX-C do not have enough shape memory to recover and will not seal on an expansion fitting, so confirm the tubing grade before ordering.
Sizes run 1/2" through 1-1/4" including reducing configurations. Bodies come in composite (poly) and brass, plus DZR forged brass. The composite versions are worth specifying where water is acidic or high in chlorides, since ordinary brass dezincifies under those conditions; they also cost less and resist freezing better.
Also stocked: sweat, male and female adapters for transitions to copper and threaded systems.
Brands include MR PEX, HeatLink, Legend Valve and Sioux Chief.
