Swing, spring and dual check valves for potable water, hydronic heating and pump discharge, in 1/2" through 2" and larger.
Orientation is the specification people get wrong. A swing check relies on gravity and flow to close its disc, so it only works reliably in a horizontal run or a vertical run with upward flow — installed backwards or on a downflow line, it will not seat. A spring check closes against a spring and works in any orientation, which is why it is the right choice on pump discharge and in tight mechanical rooms.
Spring checks have a higher cracking pressure and therefore a higher pressure drop. On a gravity or low-head system that difference is enough to matter; on a pumped line it usually is not.
Bodies are bronze, brass, lead-free brass and cast iron, in FIP, sweat and press. Ratings run 200 to 300 WOG.
Brands include Jomar, Milwaukee Valve, Legend Valve and Red-White Valve.
