Press Fittings - Copper (CTS)

Copper press fittings for CTS tube, joined with a jaw-compressed sleeve and an EPDM O-ring instead of solder. No flame, no flux, no draining the line dry — which is why press has taken over occupied-building and retrofit work.

Sizes run 1/2" through 2" and larger, in press x press, press x FTG, press x FIP and press x MIP. Fitting bodies are copper with brass used where the fitting transitions to thread. Tees, reducing tees, couplings, unions and reducers make up most of the range, with reducing tees the largest single group.

Two rules decide whether a press joint holds. The tube must be fully inserted to the depth mark — a shallow insertion presses but does not seal. And the system is proprietary: Viega and Mueller profiles are pressed by different jaws, so buy the fitting that matches your tool, not the cheaper one.
