Whole-House Dehumidifiers

Honeywell Home whole-house dehumidifiers and their service parts. The range covers the DR90 whole home dehumidification system and the 4th generation DHM065, DHM090 and DHM120 units rated at 65, 90 and 120 pints per day, along with replacement filters and the display controller.

A whole-house dehumidifier works with the home's air system rather than sitting in one room. It is usually ducted into the return, or set up as a standalone unit in a basement or crawl space, and runs from its own humidistat or control. Keeping indoor relative humidity between about 40 and 50 percent limits mold, musty odors and condensation on ducts and windows, and it lets the air conditioner run warmer thermostat settings without the house feeling clammy.

Size the unit by pints per day for the conditioned volume and the moisture load. Basements, crawl spaces and tight new construction often need more than the floor area alone suggests. Plan the condensate route at the same time: gravity to a floor drain, or a condensate pump where no drain is nearby.

These units remove moisture. Products that add moisture in winter, such as bypass, fan-powered and steam humidifiers, are in humidifiers and dehumidifiers. Filters and media air cleaners are in air cleaners and filters.
