Air Cleaners & Filters

Whole-house air cleaners, media filters, filter cabinets, conversion kits and replacement parts from Resideo.

A media air cleaner is a four- to five-inch deep cabinet holding a pleated filter, and the depth is the whole advantage. The extra surface area captures finer particles at a lower pressure drop than a one-inch throwaway, and it lasts six to twelve months instead of thirty days.

Pressure drop is the specification most often ignored. A high-MERV filter in a system not designed for it starves the blower, which shows up as reduced airflow, longer run times and, on a furnace, high-limit trips. MERV 11 to 13 is the usual practical ceiling for residential equipment; higher belongs with a blower sized for it.

Retrofitting a media cabinet needs physical space at the return plenum, and that constraint decides most jobs before filter choice does.

Electronic air cleaners work differently — they charge particles and collect them on plates that are washed rather than replaced, so the running cost is labor instead of filters.

Frequently asked questions

Which replacement filter fits my cabinet?

Match the part number printed on the old filter or the cabinet model (for example F100 or F200) and the face size. Media filters are sized to the cabinet, not to the duct.

How often should a media filter be replaced?

Follow the cabinet manual. Deep media filters last longer than 1 in filters, but replace them sooner if airflow drops or the filter looks loaded.

Do you carry electronic air cleaner parts?

Yes: replacement cells, prefilters, postfilters, power supplies and ionizer wires, all matched by part number. See all Honeywell Home parts.
