Angle stop valves shut off water to a single fixture without closing the main, which is what makes them the first thing you touch on a faucet or toilet repair. The outlet turns 90° from the inlet, so they suit a supply line coming out of the wall; a straight stop is the equivalent for a line coming up out of the floor.
Sizing is written inlet x outlet. The common residential combination is 1/2" inlet by 3/8" outlet, and the inlet connection has to match what is in the wall — compression for copper stub-outs, FIP for threaded iron, sweat for soldered copper, or PEX for F1960 expansion and F1807 crimp systems. Quarter-turn ball-style stops have largely replaced multi-turn compression stops because they seat reliably after years of sitting untouched.
We stock angle stops from BrassCraft, Legend Valve and other manufacturers in chrome, rough brass and no-lead forged brass, including dual-outlet models that feed a faucet and an appliance from one valve.
