Charlotte Pipe AW-00708P-0015C is a 1-1/2" ChemDrain CPVC p-trap, Hub x Hub (Hub = hub (socket that takes the pipe)).

A trap holds a water seal that stops sewer gas from coming back through the drain.

ChemDrain is Charlotte's CPVC chemical waste drainage system, made to ASTM F2618 and listed by NSF for chemical waste (NSF-cw). It is used for laboratory, school and hospital drainage and similar acid and caustic waste at up to 220°F, joined with the one-step ChemDrain solvent cement.
