Caleffi 280976A ThermoProtec Anticondensing Thermostatic Valve 1-1/4" Sweat, 140F Setting

The Caleffi 280976A is a 1-1/4" sweat anticondensing thermostatic valve with a fixed 140F setting. It protects conventional boilers by keeping the boiler return water temperature above the point where flue gas condensation forms.

Installed in the boiler loop, the valve bypasses hot supply water back to the boiler return until the return temperature reaches the setting, then gradually opens to the system return. This shortens warm-up time and reduces the corrosion and scaling caused by flue gas condensation in non-condensing cast iron and steel boilers, as well as wood and solid-fuel boilers.

Before ordering, confirm the 1-1/4" sweat connection and that a 140F return temperature setting suits your boiler manufacturer's requirements. This is a boiler protection valve, not a potable water tempering valve.
