Moen 96987 is a Chateau stop tube kit in Chrome.

Chateau is one of Moen's classic faucet collections. A stop tube is a trim part that goes over the valve stem behind the handle on some Chateau tub and shower valves. It is replaced when the old one is damaged or when updating a worn trim.

Check the parts list for your Chateau model to confirm 96987 is the correct stop tube before ordering. Shut off the water supply before removing the handle.
