Size the tub by what gets washed in it, not by the room it goes in. The 18" x 23-1/2" single bowl is the one that fits the gap beside a washer in a closet laundry. The 23" x 25" takes a full mop bucket without the handle fouling the wall. The 40" x 24" double bowl gives a soak side and a rinse side, which is what a garage, a basement or a shop actually uses a utility sink for. All of them stand at roughly counter height, 33" to 34" overall.
Floor or wall changes where the weight goes. The floor models stand on their own steel legs, so the wall only carries the plumbing — that is the safe choice against a stud wall or a finished basement partition. The wall-hung DURASTONE puts the whole load into the wall instead, tub plus water plus whatever is soaking in it, and needs solid blocking behind the finish. A 23" tub filled is well over a hundred pounds before anything goes in.
Material is the other decision. DURASTONE is molded stone: heavier, harder, and it does not flex when a bucket lands in it. The thermoplastics — polypropylene, and Mustee’s own Co-Polypure formulation — are lighter, cheaper to ship and warmer to the touch, and they scratch rather than chip. For a laundry that mostly sees hand-wash and a hose fill, the plastic body is enough. For a shop sink that will see paint, grout, solvent and tool edges, the stone body is the one that still looks like a sink in five years.
The faucet is bought separately. A standard laundry faucet is a 4-inch centerset with a hose-thread spout, so a washer hose or a garden hose threads straight onto it. Where the tub has to fill a bucket rather than a basin, the wall-mount service faucets carry a vacuum breaker and a wall brace and set the spout high enough to clear the rim.
