Caleffi 551028AC DISCAL Air Separator 1" Sweat with Expansion Tank Check Valve, 150 psi

The Caleffi 551028AC is a 1" DISCAL Air Separator with sweat (copper) connections and an expansion tank check valve. It continuously removes air and microbubbles from closed-loop hydronic systems.

DISCAL separators work on the coalescing principle: an internal element causes entrained air and microbubbles to combine and rise into the upper chamber, where a float-operated automatic air vent releases them. Removing air reduces noise, corrosion and pump cavitation and improves heat transfer in closed-loop hydronic heating and cooling systems. This version includes a service check valve on the expansion tank connection, so the tank can be serviced or replaced without draining the system.

Before ordering, confirm the 1" sweat (copper) connection matches your main piping, and that the system stays within 150 psi and 250F. Install it on the supply side where water temperature is highest for best air removal.
