Caleffi 574050A 574 Series Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) Backflow Preventer, 3/4" NPT Threaded, ASSE 1013, Low Lead

The Caleffi 574050A is a 3/4" threaded reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer from the 574 series. It protects the potable water supply against backflow from a connected system or appliance.

RPZ assemblies are ASSE 1013 devices used where a cross-connection presents a high hazard, such as boiler fill lines, irrigation and process equipment. Two independent check valves with a relief valve between them discharge water to atmosphere if backflow conditions occur. This low-lead brass model is rated for 150 psi and 150°F.

Before ordering: confirm the 3/4" NPT connection on your piping (see the submittal sheet for thread details). The relief port discharges water during operation, so plan for an air gap and drain at the installation. Most jurisdictions require RPZ assemblies to be installed and tested by a certified tester, typically every year.
