CPVC Fittings

CPVC fittings for hot and cold potable water, sizes 1/2" through 2", in slip x slip, slip x FIP, slip x MIP and slip x FTG.

CPVC is chlorinated PVC, and the chlorination is what lets it handle 180°F where ordinary PVC cannot. That single difference is why CPVC is approved for hot water distribution and PVC is not, despite the two looking similar and sharing a joining method.

They are not interchangeable and their cements are not either. CPVC requires a CPVC-specific solvent cement; PVC cement on a CPVC joint makes a connection that looks sound and fails under hot water. Most CPVC cements are one-step and need no primer, but check the can.

CPVC is more brittle than PVC, especially cold, and it is attacked by some spray foams, thread sealants and firestop compounds. Confirm compatibility before anything touches the pipe.

Sizing is CTS — copper tube size — so CPVC fittings match copper dimensions rather than PVC schedule dimensions.
