Caleffi 523186A MixCal+ High-Flow 3-Way Thermostatic Mixing Valve, 1-1/2" Press, 13 Cv, ASSE 1017

The Caleffi 523186A is a MixCal+ high-flow 3-way thermostatic mixing valve with 1-1/2" copper press connections. It blends hot and cold water to deliver a stable mixed-water temperature to the hot water distribution system, with a flow capacity of 13 Cv.

MixCal+ high-flow valves are ASSE 1017 listed point-of-source mixing valves, typically installed at the outlet of a water heater, boiler or storage tank to temper domestic hot water before it is distributed through the building. The brass body is rated for a minimum flow of 8.8 GPM.

Before ordering: confirm the 1-1/2" pipe size and press connection, and check that your lowest expected hot water demand is above the 8.8 GPM minimum flow. Press ends require the matching copper press tool and jaws. An ASSE 1017 valve is a point-of-source device; where code requires point-of-use scald protection (ASSE 1016 or 1070) at fixtures, it must be provided separately.
