MrPEX Systems 4855050 is a 1/2" brass PEX sweat adapter with an ASTM F1960 expansion x Sweat connection.

This sweat adapter joins PEX to copper tube with a solder (sweat) connection, for transitions between existing copper and new PEX. Listed size: 1/2". Solder the copper end before making the expansion joint so heat does not reach the PEX.

F1960 expansion fittings are used with PEX-a tubing and PEX expansion rings: the tubing and ring are expanded, the fitting is inserted, and the PEX shrinks back to form the seal. The brass body gives a rigid, durable fitting for plumbing and hydronic lines. Match the fitting size and expansion ring to the tubing, and follow local code and the tubing maker's installation instructions.
