Charlotte Pipe PVC-08109-1600 is a 2" PVC Schedule 80 male adapter, Socket x MPT (Socket = socket (takes the pipe); MPT = male pipe thread).

An adapter makes the change from sweat to a male pipe thread, for a valve, fixture connection or threaded equipment.

Schedule 80 PVC fittings are the heavy-wall pressure fittings, made to ASTM D2467 and grey to tell them apart from Schedule 40. The thicker wall gives a higher pressure capacity and allows threaded connections, which is why Schedule 80 is used on industrial, process and commercial pressure lines. Like all PVC, they are limited to 140°F.
