Charlotte Pipe PVC-08700-2000 is a 2" PVC Schedule 80 union with viton o-ring, Socket x Socket (Socket = socket (takes the pipe)).

A union can be taken apart without cutting the line, so equipment such as a pump, water heater or valve can be removed for service.

Schedule 80 PVC fittings are the heavy-wall pressure fittings, made to ASTM D2467 and grey to tell them apart from Schedule 40. The thicker wall gives a higher pressure capacity and allows threaded connections, which is why Schedule 80 is used on industrial, process and commercial pressure lines. Like all PVC, they are limited to 140°F.
