Moen 62385 is an M-Pact Posi-Temp tub and shower rough-in valve with cold-expansion PEX (ASTM F1960) connections and stops.

Posi-Temp is a pressure-balancing valve: it responds to pressure changes in the hot or cold supply, for example when a toilet is flushed, to help keep the shower temperature steady. M-PACT is Moen's rough-in valve platform: the valve stays in the wall while the trim is chosen separately, so confirm the trim you pick is listed for M-PACT Posi-Temp valves.

The inlets are cold-expansion PEX (ASTM F1960), so use expansion rings and an expansion tool, not crimp rings. Integral stops let the water be shut off at the valve for cartridge service without turning off the supply to the whole house.
